First Holy Communion Ceremony

The First Holy Communion Ceremony for the boys and girls of Christ the King Schools will take place on Sunday 18th May at the 10:30am Mass.  

Holy Week 2014

 

HOLY THURSDAY: APRIL 17th No Morning Mass - 

Celebration of the Institution of the Blessed Eucharist at the Last Supper.

7:30pm:MASS OF THE LORD’S SUPPER followed by Watch and Pray at the Altar of Repose, concluding with night prayer of the Church 10pm.

 

GOOD FRIDAY: APRIL 18th

12noon: Childrens Stations of the Cross

3pm:      Celebration of the Lord’s Passion, Veneration of the Cross and Holy Communion.

7:30pm: Stations of the Cross

 

HOLY SATURDAY: APRIL 19th  No Morning Mass.

The Church waits in silence to celebrate the Resurrection of the Lord.

11am – 12noon:  Sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation.

9pm:   EASTER VIGIL.               

Service of Light; Liturgy of the Word; Liturgy of Baptism; Liturgy of the Eucharist.

 

EASTER SUNDAY OF THE LORD’S RESURRECTION: APRIL 20th

Masses:  9am, 10.30am & 12noon.

No evening Mass.

 

EASTER WEEK: APRIL 21st  –25th .

Weekday Masses at 10am.

 

 

The Word of God for Lent

Sunday 30th March: ‘Do you believe in the Son of Man?  He answered, ‘And who is he, Sir?’ ‘Tell me so that I may believe in him’   (John 9:1-41) 

Monday 31st March: ‘For me you have changed my mourning into dancing; O Lord, my God, I will thank you forever’ (Psalm 29)

Tuesday 1st April: Jesus said, Do you want to be well?’ ‘Sir’ replied the sick man, ‘I have no one to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; and while I am making my way, someone else steps down ahead of me.  Jesus said to him, ‘Stand up, take your mat and walk’ (John: 5:1-3)

Wednesday 3rd April: ‘Does a woman forget her baby at the breast, or fail to cherish the son of her womb? Yet even if these forget you, I will never forget you’ (Isaiah: 49:15)

Thursday 3rd April: ‘How can you believe, since you look to one another for approval and are not concerned with the approval that come from the one God’ (John: 5:40)

Friday 4th April: ‘Save me, O God, by your power and grant me justice God, hear my prayer, listen to my plea’ (Entrance Anthiphon)

Saturday 5th April: ‘Several people who had been been listening to Jesus said, ‘Surely he must be the Prophet,’ and some said, ‘He is the Christ’, but others said, ‘Would the Christ be from Galilee?’

Penitential Services

The Sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation will take place on Wednesday 9th April, 2014 at 7:30pm in the Church of Christ the King, Cabra.  

St. Patrick's Day Masses

Monday 17th March is St. Patrick's Day.  The Vigil Mass will be celebrated on Sunday 16th March at 6pm.  Masses on Monday 17th March are at 9am and 10:30am.  Please note that the 10:30am Mass will be celebrated in Irish.
